Surf is the face height at the beach after the swell is filtered for the way Newbiggin by the Sea faces. Arrows show where the swell and wind are heading. Tide is the height at Blyth above chart datum, rising ↑ or falling ↓; the rating drops when the tide is outside the window this break works on. Amber marks the sessions worth setting an alarm for. From Wednesday the swell comes from Météo-France's 10-day model, which is coarser than the 5 km German model used close in. Hours no model reaches are left blank, not shown as flat.
Exposure
Newbiggin by the Sea faces south-east. Swell inside the lit window reaches the beach; anything from behind the headlands scores nothing, however big the buoy says it is.

- Tide
- low to mid tide.
- Getting there
- Head towards Newcastle on A1 or A19 then head towards Morpeth then take the coastal route and it is sign posted Newbiggin.
A left reef break near the church (other side of the brig) and a small beach break in the bay. Great Shelter on N-NW winds but needs a big swell to work. Surfed the left this week had it to myself, walked across teh brig and jumped off the end then paddled around. Really nice left that I can see could have potential, looks like a bad rip in the bay.
